Whirlwind Weekends

The last two weekends have been busy, busy! Aunt Chell and I have traveled to both OH & IL. We wanted to get in some of our last summer visits before pre-school starts for Keira. Our first was to OH and our annual Zoombeezi trip!

Our favorite spot is the kiddy area....with lots of fun animal slides, a mushroom waterfall and the bigger water slides. We started out on the smaller slides and worked our way up. K & K loved it. They liked the fact that they could touch the whole time, splash and 'race' down the slides together.

It was a busy time for the park, but rain was expected the next day so we fit it in while we could. Arrived in OH at noon and were splashing in the water by 2:30!! We also did the wave pool and lazy river which Nana, Aunt Chell and I all enjoyed as well. The weather was just right and we were there just long enough to enjoy the water then go grab some grub.

Then this past weekend we traveled to IL. Our former youth director from HS and her husband now live in Chicago so we were able to visit with them for a day. We were even treated to the annual air and boat show! Only we missed the boating part but got to see the air show.....AH-mazing!! The jets were SUPER loud and SUPER close! They did such neat tricks and different formations...truly talented.

At one point we even saw a big charter plain flying by dropping para-jumpers! I don't have any good pictures of them, but they were so far away it was like seeing little colored balloons floating in the sky. The jets were by far the best.

Here we are with Chrisann :) Oh how I miss her! But it was great to catch up even if just for a little bit!

We walked from Chrisann & Alan's house to the lake (only a mile!) to watch the show and passed this park along the way. Keira with her impeccable perception saw it and wanted to go back and play. The air show was loud and not very exciting to a 3 & 1 year old. They did well for a little while but wanted to swing too :)

Who knows what will happen this weekend! But let's hope we stay a little bit closer to home :)

Looks like the kiddos loved it!! What a busy summer you are having...just like ours! Can't wait until it slows down a little.
