Princesses, Teeth & Backyard fun

Last week Jason and I were able to take Keira to see Disney's Princesses on Ice!! Keira was THRILLED when we told her and couldn't wait for the evening to get there so that we could go. Some friends of ours offered to watch Kanaan so we both got to experience the whole event with our little princess. And in true form she wanted to wear her own princess dress. We also let her pick out one thing to get and she picked out Tinker Bell! Here she is posing and SO excited for the night to begin!

Keira loved every minute of it sang along to just about every song they played. We even offered to walk around a little bit during the intermission time but she did not want to leave her seat for fear that she might miss something! Her favorites were Ariel (of course!), Aurora and Mulan. I hope this show comes again to Ft. Wayne because we'll DEFINITELY go again...oh and did I mention that we had 2nd Row Seats!? It was a Great night! :)
This past weekend we also traveled up to MI to hang out with Gramma & Granpa Boothman. We even got to see cousin Annika, Ainsley & Uncle Nate and Aunt Colette. Keira had so much fun playing dress up too. Here she is in one of Annika's dresses. I think you can see Annika in the background with her Minnie Mouse dress.
Kanaan enjoyed the weekend too -par for the cold he came home with. He's a little crusty in this next picture but I think if you look closely you can see his next round of teeth coming in! He's been working on those top teeth for a little while and they've finally popped thru. Just in time to turn 1! Love that cheeky smile!

AND just yesterday the temps hit a whopping 55 degrees! So we took advantage of it and got out there for our first walk of the season! Today is supposed to hit 65 so we may just get out there again. :)

We continued the fun in the backyard digging, playing on the deck and soaking in some sunshine. This summer is going to be so much fun with two little ones out there to play and explore! Here Keira found some dirt/mud to dig in and fill up a hole with. Yes, our girly girl loves dirt. :)

Here, Kanaan is testing out his legs on the deck. He loved playing near the slide, and with some of the other toys. He's not too sure about walking around on the grass yet, but we'll get there! More pictures coming for this weekend!

Kids grow so quickly

Happy March! We are THAT much closer to spring! The sun is shining today and it's a glimpse of warmer temps to come. This past weekend I was able to get out and run with some friends and it felt GREAT! My goal is to run the Fort Wayne Half-Marathon again this year and to also complete a 5K race in under 26 min.!! My PR for a 5k is 26min. 9 sec. so we'll see what happens! Our first organized running event will be the end of this month and I'm so excited! I guess that means I'm a runner when I get excited about it right? I just like to take off those cold months in the winter. ;)
Around the house we've been keeping busy. We've had two scheduled showings on our house. Only once did we actually show it though. They gave us positive feedback and said they may want to come back and see it again! And as you can imagine with two little ones...it's a full time job just to get the house in the order in needs to be. I get one room done but then look behind me and there is still a trail of toys or other various kitchen cabinet accessories across the floor.

The kids have been keeping themselves busy. Keira goes in spurts on what she is interested in. Right now we've made it back around to Play-Doh. She has to get everything out and make sure she's got options! She also enjoys coloring. Markers are her favorite and she's getting really good at covering an entire page with color! Staying inside the lines is really not an option at this point. She loves color and lots of it!!

A side note on little miss Princess Keira....I was putting her down the other night for bedtime and she says "Mommy, when I'm older (a lot of conversations have started this way lately!), and I get a Tinker Bell toy (I think she saw something in Walmart that she wanted and I had said 'not today.') and have a baby sister and name her Ariel, (NO we're not pregnant, a lot of our friends are having babies and most have had or are having girls) then I will get my doggy Logan back! Yup, that's what's going to happen." :) Where she comes up with some things, I don't know! But they make me smile.

Then there's Kanaan who is becoming very adventurous. No cabinet, no drawer, no set of stairs is safe! He's climbing the stairs!! And is very proud of himself. He gets so excited. Kanaan is more and more vocal as well. Squealing and grunting up a storm. He's also starting to vocalize his wants. Whenever we've got food or drinks out he'll look at you and point and grunt letting you know beyond a doubt that he wants some too! Kanaan is about to pop thru his two top teeth. We've had some miserable nights and some crankiness, but he'll look so different with those top teeth! My little guy is going to be 1!!

Happy Wednesday! Everyone!
