Pumpkin Patch

Last week we traveled to Campbell's Pumpkin Patch. It was a beautiful fall day, a little windy, but we had a fun time.

Corn Maze - Which way Keira? That way?

Kanaan says go "up."

We spent a good 20 min. in the maze, which can be a long time for little ones. Kanaan however didn't want to leave. Hence the lip pout.

We ended up taking a detour out of the maze. Thanks for the help sissy!

Peek-a-boo tree!

Maybe we can climb this one

They also had some goats. My kids PET a goat!! Never would Keira have done this on her own or first, but brave little brother broke the ice.

Kanaan was SO fascinated with this goat. He just didn't want to leave. Here he is waiving 'bye-bye'

We were going to attempt a hayride/wagon ride but there were several school groups who received priority.

Deliberate 'eye's closed' picture! On my part at least :D

Wagon ride, eating apples and picking up pumpkins

Pumpkin bounce house

Apple eating

Yum :)
Overall a fun and tiring couple hours. We were all ready for some lunch and a nap after this. But fall has arrived!! Happy Fall!

More Birthday pix

I wanted to include some more fun pix of the birthday event....

We decorated the front of the house too, but I really want to show off our NEW windows! We just did the windows in the front this year. I LOVE them!

Birthday girl in all her birthday girl glamour :)

Fun with princess mats

Dress up fun!

Keira close up!

The microphone was a big hit

Cute shirt from Aunt Chell

Princess Rings!

Princess Recorder!

Princess silliness :)
Gotta love that little girl! She had so much fun and still talks about 'the party she had with all her friends.' I'm thinking next year we may do more of a destination birthday to like Chuck-E-Cheese or I hear Charming Charlie's puts on a good show too. But for now we will savor our little four year old princess diva.

Happy Birthday Princess

This past week was Keira's fourth (!) birthday. So hard to believe that my little girl is growing up! This year she wanted a princess party with some of her friends so we happily abliged! We decked the place out! From the front walkway/patio to the 'pit' area and even our back patio. We hung balloons and streamers and flowers and banners and even put up a canopy out back to give an area for the 'royal dining room.' These pictures don't tell you the whole story but will at least give you a glimpse of all the fun we had!

Tissue paper flowers everywhere!

The 'royal ballroom.' What you can't see are the streamers hung on the ceiling. We also put balloons all over the floor which the girls had a BALL playing with! Ha, get it? Ballroom? ;)

The cake! And some other pink treats. Daddy did a GREAT job with the cake! Keira absolutely lit up when she saw this.

Our Royal Guests
Carly- a.k.a Princess Ariel

Bailey - a.k.a Princess Rapunzel (our star performer! She dazzled us with her beautiful singing voice)

Rachel - a.k.a Princess Cinderella (yes, we even had princess tattoos seen on Rachel's arm and flower crowns and jewelry for the girls to dress up with)

The 'royal dining room.' Thanks to Paw Paw and Mimi for lending us the canopy. We also hung twinkle lights from the ceiling which you'll see in a later picture.

Keira opening her gifts. Thank you to Gramma & Grandpa Boothman for sending their gift and having it arrive ON party day! It was a great treat!

Twinkle lights!! And the effect I was hoping for :)

We ended the evening with a lighting of the lanterns. Just like in Tangled the movie. It was 'magical' to say the least for all of us. Mainly b/c we didn't know if they would really work! We'll definitely have to do the lanterns again next year!
We love you Princess Keira! Hope you had a magical day! You truly are a blessing to us and we love you so much!

Nature walk & Campfires

This week A. Chell and I took a mini field trip to the Forks of the Wabash Trailhead and had some fun outdoors. It was a beautiful fall day!

Throwing rocks in the river

Peek a boo in the trees!

Love Kanaan's face on this one!

Pretty as a picture in all her pink

Finally got a decent one of the two kids. Even if Keira's holding a 'sword.'

Heeeyyyyy!

Winding up for a good throw

Campfire!

And what's a campfire without s'mores!?

Riding Bikes

Going on walks and riding bikes

Lately Keira prefers her smaller bike

Kanaan on the firetruck

Riding down the driveway at top speed is also a thrill!

Aaaaahh!!!
So yesterday morning I needed to put the seats back in the van after having helped move some furniture for A. Chelle. In the meantime I figured the kids would entertain themselves in the garage with all of their toys. I get the seats in and round the van to put the car seats in. Next I see this red and blue blur flying by me. Is it Superman you ask? No it is Kanaan Boothman on his firetruck at top speed headed down the driveway with no one to catch him. I take off running...Keira's yelling....and right. before. he reaches the road. I grab his arm and stop him. *HUGE SIGH OF RELIEF!* And then I just start laughing at the whole seen. My son the top thrill dragster.
